SO (strange word, sounds like a game of strategy). I haven't been as active on this site as I would like to, 'cause I have a very busy real life. If I knew growing up meant shrinking down, I would've skipped the whole damn thing. But oh well . . . In any event (ANY! EVEN TRUMP AS PRESIDENT . . . who would've guessed the world won't end with a whimper or bang, but the deflating honk of a clown's nuclear nose . . . AND LEONARD COHEN DEAD . . . My Lord, I will believe in you just so I can vent my rage upon you) . . . I have posted here about how proud I am that I appear alongside Josh Malerman, John FD Taff, Joe Schwartz, and J. Daniel Stone in the 5-novella collection I CAN TASTE THE BLOOD. But I haven't shared all the great reviews that it's gotten through this site. Thus, this post.
Okay. As of this writing the most recent review is in the esteemed HELLNOTES, where the Scholar and Gentleman CM Saunders says, among other things (including my propensity to drip, for which I take full responsibility) "I Can Taste the Blood is a remarkable offering from one of the finest publishers of dark fiction on the planet."
A teeny ways back, the book was reviewed over at THIS IS HORROR UK. No less than Shane Keene says "it's a tour de force" and flatters me with the cognomen "Master of Weird Fiction." Thank you Shane. I am Keen on you.
Where was I? Oh yes. Real life calls, it carries a megaphone, and it's got a lisp so it's skullcrushingly loud AND you have to strain to hear it. And I'm hungry, so I don't feel up to listing all the reviews it's gotten. I'm sorry to the reviewers I did not yet get to include. I was too ambitious with this post. But I like mistakes, I love them . . . that's another post. Anyway, if I get a minute I'll do a part 2 of this. But before I go I just wanna especially thank Robb and Livius over at Booked for episode 319, and you know why.
