I write Literary (often, but not exclusively, Speculative or dark) Fiction as well as Literary Poetry (rarely Speculative) from Old School Brooklyn, NYC.
I'm also a songwriter, singer, and sometimes musician. I'm currently rehearsing to play Iggy Pop in a Stooges/Iggy Cover Band and working with award-winning composer Gene Pritsker on some songs, as lyricists.
I've appeared in 60+ award-winning literary periodicals and anthologies, including the #1 Amazon bestseller, I CAN TASTE THE BLOOD (alongside Josh Malerman, John F.D. Taff, J. Daniel Stone, and Joe Schwartz).
YES TRESPASSING, my short-fiction collection, essentially is my Biographical Statement, best told by reviewers and my fellow authors:
THIS IS HORROR UK: "Erik T. Johnson delivers a magnum opus of staggering proportions and epic concepts of literary strangeness . . ." YES TRESPASSING is "one of the best, most beautifully written collections of this or any other year . . ." and "Erik T. Johnson is writing at a level that all authors, new and veteran alike, should aspire to. Because what Johnson has achieved with YES TRESPASSING is nothing less than absolute greatness."
Author JOHN BODEN, writing for GINGER NUTS OF HORROR: "Weird fiction at its gonzo best" and "Brilliance unfettered and unscarred by convention."
JOHN F.D. TAFF, Bram Stoker Award nominated author of THE BELL WITCH and THE END IN ALL BEGINNINGS: "No one writes a line like Erik T. Johnson. Oh I know it takes more than a line to make a great story. He does that ... If your horizons are expanded somewhat beyond comfort, then Erik T. Johnson has done his job."
JOSH MALERMAN, bestselling, Shirley Jackson Award and Bram Stoker Award nominated author of BIRD BOX and UNBURY CAROL calls YES TRESPASSING "Electric."
J. DANIEL STONE, author of BLOODKISS and LOVEBITES & RAZORLINES: "Erik T. Johnson is insanely gifted, and YES TRESPASSING is the proof. You can't get these stories out of your head."
MICHAEL BAILEY, Bram Stoker Award winning editor of THE LIBRARY OF THE DEAD: "This book will change you."
I am also a proud active member of The Horror Writers Association; PEN America; The Author's Guild; and The Center for Fiction.
