I rarely write recurring characters, but I went into this phase a coupla years ago where I knocked off a bunch of really weird, "Funny-Strange/Funny Ha-Ha" detective stories starring my guy Martin Box.
Box's latest appearance is in the Strange Case Files anthology, now available on Amazon and Nook.
My story is called "Martin Was Here" and if you purchase the book, you can possibly discover just what he was doing (hint: it involves broken Edison records, decapitated heads, job burn-out, translucent jelly redolent of wishing-well pennies, bizarre cruelty, & painful childhood memories).
It's only $4.95, so if you like your noir weird, it's a pretty good deal for 9 tales of odd mystery and gumshoes with souls (for clients?).
ALSO if you like it, you'll be pleased to know Box will be showing up soon in new issues of the venerable British Fantasy Society Journal (not sure exactly when) and the venerable Tales of the Unanticipated (January 2014).
