Kendall Reviews Interview Post this Friday (4/27)
The truly fantastic Gavin Kendall will be featuring an extensive interview with me on his sincerely fantastic website, KendallReviews.com on Friday, April 27th in this year of Our Only-God-Knows-Who 2018.
It's going to be a very special post. His thoughtful questions inspired me to reveal way more about myself than I planned. I guess I'm getting used to this world where privacy doesn't exist. Being insane helps. We 'Nanners breeds, even the teacups and teddy bears, tend to be inexplicably honest. (TMI? Isn't that some kind of plastic explosive?)
POINT being, I hope people find it pretty interesting, even Betty Crocker (in-joke--although, I did know someone--no shit--who worked for THE Betty Crocker and hated her guts) . . .
We discuss everything from my haunted childhood, to how Rock-n'-Roll saved my life; thoughts on favorite authors . . . and I even offer a refugee-boatload of bad advice for writers just starting out.
Erm . . . O yes and then we discuss my actual writing, especially my short fiction collection YES TRESPASSING, and I think there's something on I Can Taste the Blood in there . . .
And if that's not enough (O but how I love thee sweet Overkill, let me count the ways . . . Wait, I can't, that's why you're Overkill), there will be 3 FREE FICTION EXCLUSIVES!
So you can sample me (but I want royalties if you wind up getting a hit like the Verve did with Bittersweet Symphony; I will sue you faster than the Stones)!
One Very Horrific Fiction Exclusive:
One of these pieces, Muddy Love, is a story that is a QR-code bonus story available only in the hardcopy version of YES TRESPASSING. Since more people buy on Kindle than paperback, we thought it would be nice to share it with Gavin's readers. It's a truly disturbing, straight-horror story.
Two Martin Box Exclusives:
Most reviews of YES TRESPASSING have been really positive overall (click here for the reviews), but even those that weren't totally sold on my book clearly enjoyed, and in some cases admitted they loved, I daresay, my Martin Box stories. I think there are 6 of these in YES TRESPASSING.
(Martin Box is a detective specializing in trans-dimensional, supernatural, weirdo cases and he lives in a pretty funny, dark, anything-goes-world. They're cross-genre mysteries, I guess.)
Given the fairly unanimous popularity of Martin Box, and my own love of writing him--he's fun to do--one of the many cool projects I'm enthusiastically working on now is a Martin Box novel.
I asked Gavin if he'd also post two exclusive Martin Box stories that weren't included in YES TRESPASSING.
And he said YES! They're two of my favorites, The Drama God and The Peculiar People. They give a little taste of what the Martin Box novel will be like, whenever it's finished.
And, if you like the gruesome Muddy Love as well as the "Martin Boxes", I hope it encourages you to pick up a copy of YES TRESPASSING where you can read a lot more where those came from.
Either way, I hope whoever checks these freebies out enjoys!!!
And thank you again to Gavin and KendallReviews for all the hard work you have put into this in-depth post and all the extras!
