So I was lucky enough today to have a phone interview with a journalist who will be doing a review of my one-and-only, but dense-and-intense (Think of it as how like, Texas is the "Lone Star" state but it's also always farting on about how huge it is) book, YES TRESPASSING.
I'm not sure when the interview will be coming out and I will be of course be shouting from the roof-tops (which on second thought is sort of a Pantagruel-sized Luddite approach, so I'll use sinister digital means) about it when I do.
Here's what's interesting and made me want to share this with you all. As we were wrapping up the interview, the journalist asked me an interesting question and my response naturally had to be quick. He asked me to name what I consider the three greatest horror novels of all time (which, btw, even he understood is one of those impossible questions to answer, but you know, it'll make the review more interesting, etc.)
I surprised myself by naming the following, right off the top of my head and in no particular order of quality:
1. I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
2. The Tenant by Roland Torpor
3. The Cormorant by Stephen Gregory
And then just to tack on a worthy oldie, I added
4) The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.
The reason I wanna share this with you is because these are 4 of the greatest books ever written in my opinion. And each one is not "merely" horror. ALL of them are disturbing as Hell. So check 'em out if you haven't--and I'd be curious what you think!
