Fantastic interview with John F.D. Taff over at Kendall Reviews. John is one of the best writers ever, fuck genre. Like Hemingway without a macho-front, mixed with Ray Bradbury's lyricism/underlying humanist approach. He never overdoes it; he knows his strengths and plays to them for greatest effect, and when he experiments, the results are dazzling. Most importantly, like Richard Adams, Taff is a STORYTELLER of the first order. That's a gift you either have or don't; I bang my head into walls getting that right but John F.D. Taff makes it look effortless.
Anyway, enough about me. Wait, cross that out! I forgot-- John generously mentions me in the interview, tossing a bit of flatter in that chatter. That's the kind of sugar poppa likes, as Peter Criss once unfortunately sung. Oh and one more thing-- Kendall's questions are insightful-- always are-- so be sure to check his blog regularly.
