You know how, whatever song it appears in, something about being "alright" is always the best lyric in that song?
My favorite, the King of "I Feel Alright" appears in the godlike Stooges track--1970--off their 2nd album, Funhouse. But then think how great it feels to sing "It was alright" along with Lou on Rock and Roll, from The Velvet Underground's Loaded. Another incredible "I feel alright" belongs to Steve Earle, a key piece of his song titled . . . Feel Alright.
There's something so goddamned simple yet solid about that phrase. I don't know. I'm too tired to get too far into it now, but maybe I'll write a book around the subject later . . . but, speaking of subjects, let me change this one and get to the matter at prosthetic hand:
I FEEL ALRIGHT about these great CHIRAL MAD 2 reviews and developments:
Great Review Number 1:
In March, Publisher's Weekly called Chiral Mad 2 a "winning collection" and that editor Michael Bailey" . . . builds on the success of his previous anthology, Chiral Mad . . . "
Great Review Number 2:
Also in March, Horror World proclaimed Chiral Mad 2 . . . Waitaminute, just realized it says "you may not reproduce any reviews in whole or in part" without permission. So I'll paraphrase. The review says some of it is great and some of it sucks. I wonder if I am allowed to reproduce the text "you may not reproduce any reviews in whole or in part."
MORE AWARDS THAN THAT CRAPPY MOVIE GRAVITY GOT!
Only these ones are deserved: Chiral Mad 2 is named winner of the Indie Book Awards, and silver medalist/finalist for the Independent Publisher Book Awards. Congratulations to everyone involved. Also, the anthology is currently a finalist for ForeWord Reviews' Book of the Year, to be announced later this month.*
